I'm Kilian

I am naturally inclined toward hope and action over resignation and denial and I've been done with 'business as usual' for some time now. I'm here for 'The Great Turning'. I identify as 'cis-male', 'queer', 'neurodivergent' and I was born in Dublin, Ireland.

Son of a social worker / feminist / anthropologist / psychotherapist mother and a computer scientist / engineer / technologist father, my background, lived experience and identity has encouraged me to bridge the gap between human experience and systemic understanding.

Reminder: These things both matter and don't matter at all. Anatta. 'I' is constantly in process, this writing serves fixedness and life is not a linear narrative. It is circular, entwined, poetic, mysterious and that this is beautifully alive.

I work consistently to cultivate my awareness, undo my conditioning and open my eyes to privilege and my contribution to the perpetuation of rotten systems and dead-end trajectories. I'm currently engaged in post-disciplinary research at the intersection of philosophy, anthropology, aesthetics, design and technology.

In my work as Strategic Designer, Product Development (based in Dublin / Berlin), I have been exploring emerging technologies for almost a decade, having first worked with 'A.I.' natural language processing in 2014 and subsequently working with predictive analytics and related 'intelligent' technologies in the subsequent years that followed. "We don't design out the human" was an expression I heard many years ago that rings with particular urgency today as we strive to create ethical and sustainable solutions that make a positive impact on people's lives.

With a focus on fostering creativity, empathy, and responsible practices, I'm committed to creating a future with technology through which design serves humanity, fosters collaboration, and promotes environmental stewardship. I'm dedicated to co-creating a world where innovation meets empathy and ethics!
